First Snow of the Season

We got our first snow of the season yesterday - it started at about 9 AM and was still flurrying when we left around 10:30 PM and this is what we have to show for it. This is the view out of our back door at BT - not bad, eh? We regularly see geese flying into the pond behind us, either from the office window or through the big window in the dining room. Nice. Last night that big window provided quite a picturesque view of the wintery night sky - snow falling steadily. It was lovely...from inside. It hurt business a little - of course - but not as badly as we were worried it would; there were a few who didn't let an inch or so stop them from their evening plans. We are glad of that! This time of year - the month of December shopping and baking and parties - is a difficult time for our business. There is just so many other things to do, so many other things to spend your money on. We expect to be a little "slow" but we don't like it...and you know what? We work all the harder on slow days, because we have to send staff home! Who picks up the slack? Those of us on salary!!

Anyway, that makes me think of another Winter Food Tradition - Kevin's mocha!! Bring it on!
