Food and the People Who Make It

Well, let's start with the people who clean up after the people who make it (and eat it). At the top you have PotMan Extraordinaire: Alec. We have discussed his positive attitude in our kitchen in other posts, and he remains a terrific worker. Tonight, besides keeping on top of all the Pots, he shelled pecans for the pecan pie we are having tomorrow. Below Alec is his buddy Justin, who mostly mans the dishwasher, but is no slouch when it comes to the pots either.

Walter is shown here with the bread - which he and Kevin make every day. Don't look at all the paraphernalia behind him... Walter is a recent Washington College grad who has been a major part of the BT kitchen for several months now, practically from the beginning. He is an apprentice cook, learning a valuable trade under a couple of strong teachers. He has come a long way already and we have no doubt that he will go far.

The following few photos show Walter putting together the spinach salad for service.

The finished product is very tasty, with raisins and cranberries and curried apple vinaigrette.

This is the Crispy Potato Crusted Char.

Here is a most delicious Vegetable Plate, made for some of our non-meat eating diners.

And this is a plate of the famous 7-hour lamb, made for meat eating diners!

Of course this is the famous - and delicious - Oyster Fritter!

Kevin is just a blur behind the line.

Below are steaks. 'Nuff said. I want mine very rare.

Steak with Onion Rings.

Marvesta shrimp with cornbread.

And finally, one more shot of that Fritter. It is so good...I want one now....Kevin???? Please???
