It's been a very rough week here at BT. Last Saturday Kevin's brother John suffered a heart attack, from which he never recovered. He died Friday night at the Hospital in Elizabethtown Kentucky, where he'd made a home for many years. John was retired from the Army, having spent time in Korea and Germany, as well as many years as a recruiter. He had most recently been working in the same capacity for the Army, but as a civilian. John was very family oriented, never missing a graduation or christening; birthdays and anniversaries were always remembered. We spent a week with him in E-town when we were on our road trip, and it was great to immerse ourselves in his life for a time, but he was always the first one to come up here to see us whenever he had time off, including many, many Thanksgivings. He was interested in everyone he met - members of my family were just as important to him as his own family was. He will be missed by all of us who were lucky enough to know him.

We just wanted you to know we're so sad for Kevin, and for all in both of your families who loved John. Y'know, those of us who've been around since Ironstone days feel a little like family, too, and would want you to know we wish we could help in some way. Is there someplace to send a memorial contribution in John's name? Is the blog an appropriate place to note it, or could you let us know when we see you? Connie & Stu Godwin
