Ridge Zinfandel

We got in our May delivery of Ridge Wines a week or so ago and I can't wait to try them! Ridge is my favorite winery - their blended wines are among the best in the country, and have been for a long time. Many of you know that we named our first dog "Ridge" and that some of his ashes are sprinkled among the grape vines at Ridge Lytton Springs vineyard in Sonoma. We visited out there on our 2005 Road Trip and they graciously allowed us to wander up into the hills with our canister, and just as we were tossing Ridge around the vines a great huge jack rabbit came running out! That dog would've chased that rabbit clear to Napa if he'd been there in body to do it! Anyway, we've been drinking Ridge Wines for years and this is my first order for a long time, so we are excited. They are distributed by Henry Wine Group and Steve Nilsen is our superb sales man who lets me know when the Ridge pre-sells are coming up. We got six cases. I am most excited about the Syrah Lytton West, since I really enjoy a big syrah and I've never had the Ridge production of it before. You will be seeing some of these wines offered on our wine list in the coming months, at our usual low mark-up. Kevin and I have already figured out how many bottles we have to sell to our customers before we can drink one ourselves...and it's quite a few, so let's get going!
