Week Nine, our Colchester Farm CSA box brings us a rather meager supply of vegetables - but certainly enough for two adults, which is what our medium share is supposed to provide. In an email sent to members, the explanation for the lack of quantity was bugs, weather, and labor. We can certainly relate to at least two out of three of those issues. We're glad we're not feeding a family of four right now. We'd be eating two tomatoes, two eggplants, one yellow squash, one wee head of red cabbage, one small head of green cabbage, a quart of green beans and new potatoes, four beets and a bunch of green onions. We could have a feast with that, for at least two or three days, eh? Hopefully some rain this week will improve their conditions for further harvests. As it is, we are enjoying their quality produce, despite the small sizes. It's all good!
