Sign of the Times

As many of you already know, we are trying to find tenants for this lovely commercial building that we own in Kennedyville.
Empty since the beginning of the year,
it was the home of
The Kennedyville Inn, known since 1995 for excellent food,
including some awesome BBQ.

Part of the problem with finding a tenant could be that the building still advertises the presence of a restaurant...and who wants to open a restaurant in Kennedyville right now?
It would take a serious effort on someone's part
and there are not too many of those "someones" in Kent County.

So, this weekend we finally got around to covering up the sign that has
been promoting the existence of a non-existent restaurant.
It was a sad day, as the KVI was a huge part of our lives for 9 years,
from the opening in November of 1995
to saying a sad farewell in October of 2004
when we handed the business, in all it's success,
over to our capable sous-chef.
He ran it for the next three years, until they closed it for good in 2007.
Now the next chapter needs to begin.

So maybe, with the sign gone, someone will realize that the building doesn't have to return to being a restaurant. It could be a law office, a hair salon, a wellness center...

Or, it could be a restaurant again.
