A Loss for the Community

Wayne Pinder was one of the county's most trusted, most respected, most well-liked businessmen, and we are all reeling from the news of his death on Saturday. Pinder Service Company has been around ever since I can remember - they were who handled all the dairy equipment for most of the surrounding area back when there were dairies on every farm. Wayne, along with his brother Gary, have been our go-to guys for everything electrical, everything plumbing since we've been in business ourselves. At home, at the Ironstone, at the KVI, and even here at Brooks Tavern - although in the construction phase, that caused a little problem for Pinder's guys, when they weren't exactly welcomed by the Electricians hired by the contractor - Pinder Service Company has always been our first choice. And Wayne was always there for us, to answer guestions, give advice, offer suggestions. You never needed to question his word. He was gracious as well as honest, always with a joke or a tease that made you feel like a part of his world, which is what you wanted to be. We are so saddened by his senseless death, and our hearts go out to his family.
