Last night's Prix-fixe was sold out by 7:00 I think - the pork cutlet shown above, with pear butter and panko bread crumbs, was accompanied by a spinach and curried apple salad and the famous sweet potato pound cake. I know the picture doesn't do it justice...still, it looked mighty good.
The staff (=dish staff) meal also looked mighty good,a stir-fry ala Kevin G.
Last night was a great night for dining at the Kitchen Table, with the 70 degree weather resulting in a quite comfortable temperature in the often too hot or too cold kitchen. Twinky Smith and Nancy Jane Reed were there, and seemed to have a terrific time. Nancy Jane could barely tear her eyes away from the action behind the line - and being a busy Wednesday, there was plenty to see. She remarked at how much Kevin moved around, getting his job done with lots of dancing and twirling. Both ladies were great guests, with lots of questions and avid interest in the scene before them. They were also visited by three other ladies who had dined in the DR, which made for quite a commotion for a time. Overall a very active night in the BT Kitchen. Fun for all!
