A Retraction

Snow covered branches at dawn.

The railroad trestle over Radcliffe Creek behind the Mill.

The Moon is half-full over the snow covered trees out back of BT.

I take it back. Saturday's snow-business was not "like a slow Tuesday". Last night, now that was "like" a slow Tuesday! Dreadful. January has arrived with February, eh? Come to think of it, January was pretty damn good, for January! At least we didn't have any snow-days...and now the chance of us losing another weekend looms on the horizon. But last night's snow, it must be admitted, is quite lovely. Being 32 degrees and not windy means the snow sticks to branches and limbs, lines and poles, which creates some memorable silhouettes.... Despite the disruption in business it always creates, there is such grace and calmness after this few inches of snow, you want to dwell on that instead of what it will mean to the bottom line. The quiet, the cold, moist air, the muffling of sound is so peaceful...who cares if no one wants to drive in it? It really is beautiful. And July will be here soon enough.
