Winter Wonderland

The scene when we arrived at the back door of the Brooks Tavern this morning was fairly typical, I would say. Chestertown looks like Juneau, only perhaps under the care of a wicked step-father... I don't know what other businesses did, but we were not able to get here to open on Saturday - no surprise - and since we are closed Sundays and Mondays, we don't have to worry until tomorrow. When the next snow is supposed to arrive.

We had some help digging our car out yesterday - which we knew from past experience would be better off parked at the end of our driveway - after our heroes from Horizon Dairy struggled all weekend to keep our road cleared.

Kevin was wore out with all that digging.

Kennedyville Road is pretty much a single lane for a good part of the way, and we are grateful to have it!

So, we spent our unasked-for weekend off eating and drinking and "playing" in the 2 plus feet of snow that fell for 26 hours. I suppose pictures of what we ate would be more appropriate for this Blog than the scene outside our door, which looks like the scene outside of everyone's door at the moment, but that didn't happen.

We will see what tomorrow brings. We look forward to being open, that's for sure. And we are very glad that we kept our ordering for the weekend to a minimum. It looks as though there won't be any trouble getting deliveries tomorrow either, so we are on track...

On ward and up ward!
