Local Boy Makes Good

Pictured above, in front of his restaurant Coquette in New Orleans, is Mike Stoltzfus. We all know his parents - at least we know his parents' doughnuts!! Ruth and Jonas Stoltzfus own the Village Bakery in Chestertown. Mike spent some time with us - or with Kevin rather - in the kitchen of the Kennedyville Inn. More importantly, he also spent time in the dining room, as a customer. He got it. He is currently making a name for himself, with his partner Lillian, in New Orleans: in the December issue, New Orleans Magazine pronounced him "Best New Chef". Their restaurant has been getting rave reviews ever since it opened. It is just tremendous, and we imagine that Ruth and Jonas are almost as proud of him as we are. Or maybe a little more...
