Grace Hopkins and her lunch pal Jeanne Wilson will be sharing the first BT 3rd B'Day Gift Certificate, and Myron Goff's ticket was drawn for the second. I will be calling them later this morning. Meanwhile, the "losing" tickets will go into a big jar for a chance to win the dinner for two - an option available also for the winners of the gift certificates, if they are feeling lucky!
Meanwhile, the weather is shaping up to be pretty nice for this Memorial Day Weekend, aka Tea Party in local parlance. A beautiful Saturday will be the death of our Saturday lunch business - who wants quiche and pad Thai when you can support a dozen local charities and enjoy all manner of street food? There will be fried clams and beer, crab cakes and ribs, french fries and beer, lemonade and beer. That should make plenty of people happy, eh? This is a mighty big event in Chestertown, and if the weather cooperates, the crowds will be enormous (by Chestertown Standards, at least). The party will spread out all over the park and it will be one reunion after another, as all ages come "home" for Tea Party every year.
Whatever you do, don't miss the parade! Set your lawn chairs up early and enjoy the show. And when you get tired of the lines, come down to UpHi for some 21st century dining. In the A.C. With table service. Slow food. Meanwhile, we'll be making runs downtown for some of that festival food!
