Let the Holidays Begin!

Next week marks the start of the Winter Holiday Season, with all the favorite foodstuffs it brings.  Here at Brooks Tavern, we have begun with our annual order of new-season pecans, from Millican Pecans in Texas.  We ordered a 30 pound box of in-shell nuts, and early sampling prove them to be very fresh and sweet.  I brought out the nut crackers, and slowly but steadily anyone with a free hand (or two) in the kitchen will find themselves cracking pecans for you to enjoy in the coming weeks.

 Our turkey for TG arrived from Locust Point Farm this morning, along with two for Marlena and a couple for the restaurant.  They make a fine box o'turkey, don't they?
