Late last year, Chesapeake Bank in Chestertown started a gift card campaign aimed at encouraging local spending. The cards, which can be purchased through the Chesapeake Bank website, are pretty much just like any other gift card you might buy except they can only be used at locally participating businesses! Gotcha!! What a great idea!
One of our customers has been on me about this program for months - I think ever since he got one of the gift cards for a Christmas Gift - and finally we are on board. It is as easy as taking a Discover Card and costs the business no more than that transaction, so what's the delay? We're on it!
