Country Fare Inn, meet Brooks Tavern

Kevin entertains the Country Fare Inn group with some of his more recent war stories.
We were excited to see some old friends and compatriots last night, from our early years at the now defunct Country Fare Inn in Owings Mills.  This was the restaurant where Kevin got a lot of his kitchen training, and, more importantly, where we met each other!  The four women who came in to see us - and to eat, of course - were co-workers in the dining room for many years, from the "old" Fare to the new.  I was the new kid on the block by the time I joined up, but these women took me under their wings and led me into the hospitality light.  The crew there was very close-knit: after the business closed, Barb organized annual reunions so people could stay in touch.  That finally came to a close too, but these four have remained steadfast friends - as a matter of fact, Barbara's brother is married to her best friend Peggy!  Too funny.  Anyway, they had a great time - and there were lots of stories and remembrances all around.

Kevin manages to get in this shot.

A good time was had by all.

Cheers!  Those were the days, eh?
