Marlena's husband Chris came into lunch yesterday, and sat at the kitchen table where he could watch his wife working hard. He is in the Coast Guard, stationed in Curtis Bay, so they have some long hours apart from each other. Surprising her by his arrival, Marlena didn't miss a beat as the orders came steadily in and she steadily called them out, at the same time slicing a steak for a sandwich, making an omelette, fixing the pasta special, yelling "pick up!" as each ticket was readied for delivery. I think he enjoyed the activity, and I know he enjoyed Marlena's quiche!
