We are approaching our 4 month anniversary. Hard to believe in some ways, and in others it feels as though we've been here at BT for years already.
What have we noticed most, since our re-entry into the Restaurant Scene?
What have we noticed most, since our re-entry into the Restaurant Scene?
- Not a whole lot has changed - people still want good food at fair prices, served with grace in a timely fashion. It is not, and never has been, rocket science.
- That being said: We are still learning. Every Day.
- Older customers get dressed up, younger ones don't.
- 60 plus seats is a lot.
- Ball caps are not ubiquitous.
- One of the best things we've done here is to spend the money on the POS system. Even though it is probably a lot more computer than we really need or will ever use, it has been worth every cent.
- Our customers seem to represent a broader range of the population, with regards to age, than ever before. From college age to Heron Point, baby boomers at both ends of the spectrum, DINKS and YUPPIES, we seem to be seeing them all, at any day of the week.
- Friday night is still mostly locals, Saturday remains more new faces.
- Saturday lunch is becoming quite popular, after a rather slow beginning.
- Saturday lunch is the only lunch where we need to turn on the Bar Register...
- The low-carb craze is pretty much a thing of the past - thank goodness.
- Small plates are very, very popular.
- Red wine outsells white by the bottle; white outsells red by the glass.
- Vodka is still King, although Rum seems to be gaining, powered by the Mojito?
I am sure there is more, but I'll have to add on later. After all, it's still 3 days before we can officially celebrate Four Months. Let's hope we make it Four Years. At least, eh?
