Water with Lemon

Kevin's sensei sent him an email regarding the apparent "dangers" of lemon slices we put in your water or tea upon request... (I am supposing the lime in your vodka and tonic is exempt, because of the alcohol?) It seems there are a lot of nasty bacteria on them, or on our hands that touch them. They say we are supposed to use tongs or gloves... Now, much as I dislike the water-with-lemon thing (lemons are not cheap), I just can't buy this. I mean, it's sort of like the smoking issue - where does it stop?? And isn't it true that the more we "sanitize" things, the more the bad bacteria wins? Sure, hands should be washed religiously, cutting boards should be cleaned (and sanitized) between use, especially between meats, but are we going to get sick because of a slice of lemon? The next thing you know, the Health Department will step in and make us put a sneeze guard up between the water pitcher and the lemons. We'll be serving meals in operating rooms instead of dining rooms, and robots will take over the job of the humans. Then we'll be healthy, right?

Isn't You-Tube just great?
