Next week we'll be celebrating our first anniversary at Brooks Tavern with a variety of events. I am using electronic media for most of the advertising because I have missed the deadlines for some of the print...the fact that the KCN comes out on a Thursday means I should have had my ad for our celebration in this week's paper, a thought that didn't occur to me when I placed our Memorial Day issue ad last week. So, I am relying on the Tidewater Trader this week and next, to at least send people to our WebSite.
Here's the schedule for the week of May 27th:
First of all, all week we'll be collecting business cards from anyone who comes in to eat. At the end of the week, Saturday, we'll be drawing one card from the fishbowl to award a Chef's Dinner for Four to one of our lucky customers.
Tuesday the 27th and Friday the 30th, we will be looking for coupons cut out of this week's Trader which will be good for a $5 donation, made by us, to four local nonprofits: the Kent Family Center; Kent Center; the Humane Society of Kent County; and Chester River Association. The deal is this - you bring in the coupon, marked with the group of your choice, we collect said coupons on Tuesday and Friday. At the end of the day we'll total up where the donations should go and write a check, based on the coupons, to each non-profit.
On Wednesday the 28th we're offering some dining deals - at lunch we'll be having a $5.29 special (seeing as May 29, 2007 is our official "birth" day) and at dinner a $20.07 prix-fixe menu special.
On Thursday May 29th (Happy Birthday!!) we're going to celebrate being "One" all night long.
And on Saturday the 31st we'll have our drawing for the Chef's Dinner at the end of the night.
Also next week, on this site, we will be introducing four employees who have been with us since Day One - Anne Fernwalt, Lavonte Johnson, Valerie Maitland, and Pete Fortenbaugh - with pictures and profiles.
We are very excited to turn One. We hope to celebrate many, many more anniversaries here at Brooks Tavern, but the first one is always momentous. Please come in and celebrate with us!
