Robert Fry and Judy Gifford, owner-operators of St. Brigid's Farm, near Kennedyville, have been invited to participate in the New Amsterdam market, being held this Sunday in the Market Building at the Sea Port, in New York. When they told us about it, we were quick to say we wanted to go too. It sounds like a marvelous event, with people like Bob and Judy selling their small production meats and honey and lamb and cheese and popsicles! (note - I've been craving popsicles for weeks now.) It will be jammed, I am sure, and we'll have to get up early on Sunday morning to drive the 4 hours, but it will also be a one-of-a-kind event for people who love food and the people who grow it, so, of course, we're there. BTW, we'll be getting our 2008 veal delivery this week, so look for some of St. Brigid's grass fed veal on the menu in the coming weeks.
On a side note, I am still (still still still) having problems getting this electronic email thing going. If I have your email address, I have sent you the weekly message regarding the Wednesday night prix-fixe menu, so if you haven't received it, know that it was a glitch, and I will keep trying. Mine to myself didn't even make it this week, and neither did the one I sent to Kevin! (uh oh, hope he knows what's on the menu!!) One day I will figure it out, but until then, bear with me and forgive the repeated emails if you are one of the few who seem to be on the receiving end...
