How We Spend Our Weekend

We are extremely fortunate - as members of the restaurant industry - to have two days off in a row. Ours are, as you may know, Sunday and Monday. We put in a lot of hours at Brooks Tavern during our work week, and Kevin spends most of them actually working, so when Sunday rolls around, we are ready to relax. We rarely do anything "strenuous" on Sunday and never anything "work related", unless it's something we really want to do. Generally we devote some major time to the dog - we take her swimming this time of year, which is her favorite thing - and some more major time to "reading breaks". We will either go out somewhere for dinner, or we'll hang out with someone else who might be cooking up a meal, or we'll simply cook at home. This past Sunday we cooked a delicious pasture raised chicken that someone brought to us on Saturday. What a treat that was, roasted on the grill.

Anyway, our new favorite place to run the Ruby is pictured above. I'm not going to divulge the exact location because we want to keep it to ourselves! Of course that's impossible, and many of you will probably recognize it from the photos, but it's a great spot, with a great beach and Ruby gets a great workout in the water.

Next time we're going to take a picnic! That will be a food post for a change, eh?
