Our last box from Colchester Farm is grand. Leeks - nice, big, fat ones - and a huge sweet potato, a couple ears of popping corn!, cauliflower and kale, cabbage and spinach, a head of butter lettuce, shallots!, and more of that wonderful garlic. What a haul!
We have enjoyed these grab bags of vegetables; the quality could not be better. While we incorporated the produce into our daily menus, we didn't "feature" it the way we had planned, and probably won't be joining next year. But, for a family of two or four or what ever, it is a terrific way to get some variety into your menu at a great price for unbeatable quality. Get on their web site and be ready to sign up next year. You, too, can be a locavore...
And I know everyone is just going to be devastated that this weekly feature is over...I'll have to come up with something else I suppose.
