Michael Pollan is quite possibly the best known "food activist" of our time. His best-selling work, "The Omnivore's Dilemma", has opened a lot of eyes. Last week the New York Times Magazine published his "Open Letter to the Next Farmer-in-Chief", which should be an open letter to all of us, whether we are running for President or not. It is very interesting. The link I have provided is to the "print" version, which I find much easier to read, and those of you who abhor the NYT might find this as well. Read it though, no matter how you might feel about the "liberal media". I listened to an interview with him yesterday on Fresh Air (I know, I know, more liberal media...) regarding this Letter to the Next President, and if you do too you will hear a humble, funny, and down-to-earth guy who has real concerns about what is happening to our food supply, both financially and physically.
