We just got a "Dear John" phone call from our primary meat purveyor, Springfield Farms. There is just not enough business on the Eastern Shore for them to make the weekly trek over here, it seems. It's very disappointing; Kevin has really liked working with their pork and whole lambs, although lately he has been trying to source meat through other vendors, especially when SF wasn't delivering over the holidays. One for beef is Pinelands Meat, distributed via Chef's Warehouse. The meat is very good, but it certainly couldn't be considered "local", which Springfield Farms could be. We'll still be able to get poultry, via Locust Point Farm in Elkton, which is good, but what about the lamb and beef and pork?
This is absolutely the only drawback to our life here on the Eastern Shore, eh? No one wants to deliver to us small fry.
