My ad in this week's Tidewater Trader is not too timely...
~ Ode to Hot Buttered Rum ~
The Eastern Shore this time of Year
Isn’t always fun.
The ice the rain the lack of snow,
Oh Florida, here we come!
But wait, what’s this? Relief I see?
Is that Hot Buttered Rum?
The spice the smell the heated mug!
Oh Joy! Who needs the Sun!

Bear in mind, this was written last week, after that dismal day of "wintry mix" we always seem to get in lieu of snow. This morning proves that wrong. The parking lot was a pristine white when we arrived at a little after seven this morning; we were soon followed by BackYard Buddy, who began scraping and shoveling and blowing the white stuff away, although Kevin got to our steps first. At least we won't have to shovel the sidewalk before service this time! Schools are closed in Kent and Queen Anne's, which means all of you teachers should be going out to lunch today... We'll supply the Hot Chocolate and the Hot Buttered Rum, you all go out and support your local restaurants. Just drive carefully and look out for the other guy, okay?
