Dog Rolls

(Thanks to Jill for helping me get this copy enlarged!)

Kevin and I were enjoying our Binkert's dogs for breakfast this morning, on Kevin's new dog rolls, when I commented that this was the first I'd had one of these rolls. I said "I like it, but I think I like Martin's Potato Rolls better." Kevin responded, "Oh, you like all those flavor enhancers, I guess." This led, of course, to reading the label's list of ingredients for the Martin's product. Well, that list is pictured above - and I guess he's right, I guess I do like "dough conditioners", because I really like Martin's rolls. That being said however, here's what's in the BT dog rolls:
  • King Arthur Special Flour
  • Whole milk
  • Eggs (from Kennedyville, of course)
  • Butter - Beaver Meadow brand, since we're already going down that slope.
  • Yeast
  • Sugar
  • Salt
That's it. Seven ingredients, none of which is considered a chemical. And as for the sugar part, his recipe uses 5 Tablespoons and makes thirty rolls.

With any amount of luck, I'll be able to add a picture of the tray of rolls as they come out of the oven this morning...

And there you have them!
