Post-snow

Once we realized that the weather forecast was actually accurate, and we were actually going to get several inches of snow, we didn't even open the restaurant on Saturday, as we had hoped on Friday. We had brought home the staff phone list, so while Kevin drove into town to put a "closed due to inclement weather" message on the answering machine, I called all the employees I could, to let them know they were to stay safely home.

And then we had a snow day! It's never good to lose a Saturday's worth of business, but for us, if we had to lose one, this last Saturday in December is a good one to lose - it's generally pretty weak, due to all the other seasonal events going on, so, let it snow! As long as we could get out on Monday - and we could - we basically were having an early Christmas!

And now we are back on track - we'll be open today and tomorrow and then closed on the 24th, 25th and 26th. Next week we will be closed for lunch on the 31st - dinner only for New Year's Eve, with reservations still being taken, although the prime hours are filled - and closed on New Year's Day.

For those of us wondering about when we will take a vacation - that won't happen until late in February.

Meanwhile, I'm going to go have a MoCo and continue this white Christmas week!
