Snow Preparation

With the upcoming threat of relatively major snow starting late tonight, you can be sure the grocery stores are out of milk, bread and toilet paper. We don't need any of these things when we get snowed in - we just make sure we have scrapple and a bag of fresh Maryland beaten biscuits. Of course, with it being a weekend snow storm, we hope the prediction is off and the storm heads north, away from the Eastern shore, but it doesn't look good.

Even one inch is enough to keep most of Kent County off the road, let alone 6 to 9 inches. So, how are we preparing for this, besides stocking up on scrapple? Well, we plan on showing up tomorrow as usual, with the daytime crew prepared to come in as well. We'll see how it goes throughout the day and if it really does do a lot of frozen precip, we more than likely will not open for dinner service. We have many younger employees who we really don't want to have to be out on the road on a night like that, not to mention the fact that we probably would have zero customers anyway. It hasn't happened too often, that we have been forced to close due to weather, but now and then it is just not a good idea to try to stay open. We will put a message on the tape if we have to close and hopefully people will call before venturing out.

That being said, unless it is extremely bad, we will be open. It is Saturday, after all, albeit one of the traditionally slowest Saturdays of the year....if we have to lose a Saturday's worth of business, this is the one to lose!

On the bright side, won't it be wonderful to have a White Christmas, eh?
