It was very busy too. A little too busy, seeing as most of the tables sat at 6:30. We never sold out of the prix-fixe, but there must have been 8 or 10 tables all fired at once, which jolted the kitchen into the weeds. Thankfully the food came out in a timely fashion (at least that is how it appeared to me.) It wasn't fun for the line, but they did do a terrific job of keeping up. By 7:30, when we had 3 or 4 parties waiting 30 to 45 minutes for their place at a table, I simply had to turn people away, since I knew there was not going to be any chance that Kevin would want to seat any late tables. This - thankfully - doesn't happen too often, and certainly not on a weeknight. Even the bar was loaded. One possible explanation for the exceptional crowd - besides, of course, Kevin's fabulous food - is the approaching return of students to Washington College, as there did seem to be some parent/student combos in the audience. Otherwise, it was many regulars, with friends and family, celebrating a good meal together.
Cheers!
