When we hear that little ditty, "shave and a haircut", play on our back doorbell, we know it's Cathy. And sure enough, she was the Redman's delivery girl this morning, bringing us our first flat of field tomatoes and a bushel of fresh sweet corn, one of many we will be seeing.
The corn is good - not "too" sweet, which leaves more room for the "corn" flavor to come through. I don't have any problem with everything from asparagus to zucchini coming on early this year, if it means we'll have this fresh produce supply from now until November. Bring it on!
Now if we'd just get a nice, long rain to keep things growing.
