X-Rated Post - Keep the Children Away

It seems that our Valentine's Menu will be quite "suggestive" and appropriate to the day, if you believe everything you read about certain foods having certain "qualities". Champagne or wine to begin with? Let's get the inhibitions lower and the evening started! Then there are the oysters - which we are serving on the Dinner For Two Menu in the form of oyster shooters. Oysters are high in zinc, which improves that "potency" thing in men. And of course everyone knows that tomatoes - even as juice - are known as "love apples", right? Then there is the fennel that will be in the salad...a natural source of plant estrogen...which increases libido. Garlic, which of course will be included in more than one course (and always is, in case you are wondering), as well as ginger, both increase blood circulation...and we know what that can do, eh? Chocolate in the dessert sauce contains two totally unpronouncable chemicals - serotonin and phenylethylamine - that make one feel "blissful", which I suppose can lead to "other things"?

Now, if only we can do something to make the shrimp sound a little more romantic - even though they might be "U-7s", "super jumbo", "huge", they are, after all, still shrimp...Guess we'll just have to put plenty of garlic and ginger on them! We might also include some chiles for their capsaicin, or maybe some honey for the boron, or how about celery for the androsterone? And don't forget the avocado and figs! There is a world of aphrodisiac food out there to exploit on Valentine's Day, isn't there?

BTW, I did not take the above photo - that came from one of my many sources for the "information" found in this post.

My final word - Every Day is Valentine's Day. Pass the honey ginger sauce with chiles please. And in case you are getting "hungry", we'll be serving this special menu on both Friday and Saturday nights this weekend.
